The Story of the Past

"Once upon a time, there was a mountain, and on the mountain was a temple, and in the temple was a monk telling stories; once upon a time, there was a mountain, and on the mountain..."
How many people grew up listening to stories like this?
How many people have told their children this story?

The stories from the past have always been hidden deep in my heart; they hold memories and warmth.
As I've grown older, I've come to appreciate more and more of the charm and meaning of this old story.
After my work "PAGODA" was completed,
I can finally tell stories from the past in my own way through my sculptures…

The artwork "PAGODA" was inspired by a traditional sculpture I saw in Jingdezhen—"Huang An Guarding the Tortoise for Nine Thousand Years," created by an artist known as "The Mute," who has since passed away.

The Pagoda logo was inspired by a photograph from Jingdezhen titled "Huang'an Guarding the Tortoise for Nine Thousand Years."

This piece by the mute teacher is the most powerful traditional sculpture I have ever seen. It is based on the legend of "Huang An Guarding the Tortoise," symbolizing longevity and peace.
Out of love for traditional handicrafts and respect for the older generation of artisans like Teacher Dumb, I completed "PAGODA" based on "Huang An Guarding the Turtle for Nine Thousand Years".

If the pagoda in Pagoda Pagoda is another Pagoda Pagoda... isn't this cycle just the same old story?!

Subsequently, I removed the pagoda from "PAGODA" and replaced it with an incense tower, turning the decorative piece into a practical backflow incense burner.
